2013年 9月 24日 English is becoming a universal language

Hello, everyone!

My name is Yuka Yanagisawea, a coaching adviser at Toshin business school.

Today, I would like to talk about my internship experience in the Philippines!

I did internship at kindergarten for a month.

Kids are 3-5 years old.

They are active, talkative and so so… CUTE!!

Most of Filipino can speak in English and in Filipino.

That’s why teachers teach all subjects in English at school.

They teach only Filipino in Filipino.

I surprised that 5 years old children are already bilingual!

I envy them!

But, they speak in Filipino among Filipino.

They use English when they communicate with foreigners.

They became smile when I greet them in Filipino, because foreigners rarely use it.

On the other hand, I was pleased when Filipino greeted me in Japanese.

Definitely, English is becoming a universal language.

But, people become friendly if you speak in other people’s native language.

Please try it!!

Thank you for reading.
